Hi! I'm Susan and I am the creative force behind "Ooh Look, It's a Rabbit!" Designs. I am a compulsive crafter, always trying out cool new products, techniques and ideas. I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't spend my free time making things. I even took Home Economics classes for fun! I sometimes feel like there is an artist lurking inside me, struggling to make the best of a body which has no talent for drawing, painting, sculpting, or other traditional artistic methods of expression. So, instead, I design jewelry, quilt, fuse glass, crochet, and woodwork where I can use my eye for color, scale, balance and design combined with the patterns of other creative individuals to create my own type of artistic expression.
I have been married for 24 years to a fellow woodworker. His projects are on a grander scale than mine: home additions, decks, workshops, furniture, etc. Unlike me, he is not afraid of table saws and other power tools, and I often enlist his help with my projects. I also have two sons, neither of whom share my passion for crafts. I tried really hard when they were younger, introducing them to clay and providing all types of art materials, but it didn't take, and that's okay too. I have one neurotic, dependent kitty and three tanks of fresh water tropical fish. We live on 4 1/3 wooded acres in Missouri and love to see all the birds and wildlife who wander through our yard.
When I'm not working on my projects or dealing with the constant chores of daily life, I also love to read and shop. I'm a big fan of audiobooks, and listen to them while I do my housework and my crafting projects.
